1. Our accessibility goal

Orange County Foot & Ankle Group (the Practice) is committed to providing people with disabilities access to the information and services offered through ocfeet.com. This statement explains our accessibility goal and how to request assistance, report a barrier, or ask for information in another format.

Our goal is a website that people can perceive, navigate, understand, and use with different abilities and assistive technologies. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, Levels A and AA, as a reference for that goal. This is a target for accessibility work, not a certification or representation that every page and feature has been independently tested or meets every criterion. Any applicable legal requirements continue to apply.

2. Help using the website

If you have difficulty using a page or feature, email privacy@toppractices.com. Please tell us what you were trying to do and how we can respond in a way that works for you. You may use the subject line Website Accessibility, but it is not required.

You can ask for help reading information, using a form, accessing a document, or completing a website task. We will work with you to identify an effective way to provide access. Where required by law, appropriate auxiliary aids, services, and reasonable modifications will be provided without an additional charge.

If email is not accessible to you, use another contact method listed on the website's Contact page, or ask a person you choose to relay your request. Using a representative is optional. You are not required to obtain someone else's help as a condition of receiving assistance from us. Relay calls are welcome through our published telephone contact, where available.

3. Access to practice services

If a barrier affects appointment requests, patient intake, medical information, billing, a patient portal, or a telehealth service we offer, please tell us which task is affected. We will work with you on an effective way to access it and arrange appropriate communication assistance where required by law. You may request an accessible document, assistance with an online process, or an appropriate auxiliary aid or service. Your communication needs and the nature of the information matter when identifying an effective option.

Website accessibility assistance is separate from clinical advice. For a time-sensitive care concern, use the Practice's clinical contact instructions rather than waiting for a reply to an accessibility email. For a medical emergency, call 911 in the United States or your local emergency number, or seek emergency care immediately. General email and website forms are not emergency services.

Do not send diagnoses, medical records, or detailed symptoms to the accessibility email unless the Practice has directed you to an appropriate secure process. You can describe the website barrier without explaining your condition. Applicable health-information confidentiality protections remain in effect.

This statement concerns website access. It does not replace any separate Notice of Nondiscrimination, notice of language assistance and auxiliary aids, grievance procedure, or HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices that applies to the Practice. Contact privacy@toppractices.com for help locating those notices or requesting communication assistance.

4. Reporting an accessibility barrier

The following details can help us investigate, if you are comfortable providing them:

  • The page address or name of the feature.
  • What you were trying to do and what prevented you from doing it.
  • Your preferred contact method and any time-sensitive need.
  • Your browser, device, or assistive technology, if known. These technical details are optional.

You do not need to provide a diagnosis or medical documentation to report a website barrier. Do not include passwords, complete payment-card numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive details. If a screenshot contains personal information, remove that information before sending it.

5. Responding to requests

We will review accessibility requests and work to respond as promptly as reasonably possible, considering the nature and urgency of the issue. If resolving a technical barrier takes time, we will discuss an effective alternative for the task you need to complete. You may follow up at privacy@toppractices.com and ask that an unresolved concern be referred to the person responsible for website accessibility.

An alternative contact method is a way to help with an immediate need; it does not eliminate our responsibility to address accessibility barriers where the law requires it. You do not have to complete an internal complaint process before contacting a regulator or exercising a legal right.

6. Features and accessibility priorities

Our accessibility objectives include clear headings and link descriptions, keyboard access with visible focus, readable text and sufficient contrast, meaningful alternatives for images, usable forms and error messages, accessible documents, and captions or other appropriate alternatives for media. These describe the outcomes we seek, rather than a checklist of features verified on every page.

Accessibility can vary across pages, documents, and interactive features. If a particular format or feature does not work for you, please identify it so we can help you access the information or complete the task. You do not need to install an accessibility widget or overlay to request assistance.

7. Integrated services and external websites

Some features may be provided by outside vendors, such as scheduling, payment tools, maps, videos, or account systems. If one of these features presents a barrier, contact us so we can assist and, where appropriate, work with the provider on a remedy. Using a vendor does not remove our applicable accessibility responsibilities.

Independent websites reached through external links may have their own accessibility statements. If an external resource is necessary to use a service we provide, tell us about any barrier so we can help identify an effective way to access that service.

8. Privacy and updates

Information you provide with an accessibility request is handled under our Website Privacy Policy and applicable law. We will seek only the information reasonably needed to understand and address your request. Ask us for an appropriate channel before sending sensitive information.

We may update this statement as our website, accessibility work, and assistance options change. For questions about this statement or help obtaining an accessible copy, contact Orange County Foot & Ankle Group at privacy@toppractices.com.
